Psalm 34:17 in the King James Version: “The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.”

Buying the books and formats

The books are sold on Amazon. There is no store on this website. Each book page has a button that opens the right Amazon listing: Book One and Book Two.

Each book comes in three formats. Kindle is $6.99 and works on a Kindle, a phone or a tablet. The paperback is $16.99. The hardcover is $29.99 and makes a good gift. Amazon handles shipping, returns and payment, so questions about an order are best taken to Amazon's own help pages.

Buying for a church group or a class? You can order as many copies as you need on Amazon. If you have a question about a larger order, send a note through the contact page.

Kindle Unlimited and free samples

The Kindle editions are part of Kindle Unlimited. If you are a member, you can borrow and read them at no extra cost.

Not sure yet? Open a book on Amazon and click Look Inside to read the opening pages free. That gives you a feel for the layout and the writing. We do not post pages of the books on this website, so Amazon is the place to try one.

Reading level and the King James Version

The books are written at about a seventh grade level. Sentences are short and words are plain, so teenagers can read them alone and adults can read them without feeling talked down to.

All the Scripture in the books comes from the King James Version. Its older words, like thee, thou and wist, can trip up a new reader, so the explanation beside each verse is written in plain, everyday words. On this website, every verse is pulled from two separate copies of the King James text and only shown if both copies agree.

Why the King James? It is the Bible many readers grew up with and still memorize from. The plain explanation beside each verse does the work of making it clear.

Which book to read first

If you like to start at the beginning

Read Book One first. It begins at Genesis 1 and builds the ground for everything after. Many of the promises in later books echo the ones made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

If you need a word for today

Start anywhere. Every page is complete on its own. You can also start on this website, with a page like Bible promises for today or the promises by topic list, then pick up the books later.

Book Three and the books after it

Book Three covers Job and Psalms 1 through 89. It is coming next, and there is no date yet. Formats and prices will be shared when it is ready.

After that, the series keeps going in Bible order. Psalm 90 onward, Proverbs and the rest of the Old Testament, and the whole New Testament are still to come. Each book is finished and checked before it is released, so we do not give dates in advance.

Getting book news and contacting us

The easiest way to hear when a new book is out is the sign-up form near the bottom of nearly every page. Leave your first name and email, and you will get a short note when the next book is ready. The privacy policy explains how that email is used.

For anything else, from a question about a verse to a note about a mistake you found, use the contact page. If you would like to learn more about the series and the author, see the about page.

Common questions

What is Every Promise of God?

It is a King James book series by Maurice Johnson. It reads the Bible in order and gives each promise God spoke its own page, with who it was made to, any condition, what it meant then, what it means for you and a short prayer.

Where can I buy the books?

Book One and Book Two are sold on Amazon in Kindle, paperback and hardcover. The links on each book page take you straight to the right Amazon listing.

How much are the books?

The Kindle edition is $6.99, the paperback is $16.99 and the hardcover is $29.99. The Kindle editions are included in Kindle Unlimited.

How many books will there be?

The series is still being written, one book at a time, so there is no final number to give. Book Three, covering Job and Psalms 1 through 89, is coming next.

What reading level are the books?

About a seventh grade reading level. They are written for teenagers on up, and the explanations use plain, everyday words.

Do I have to read the books in order?

No. Every page stands on its own, so you can open any book anywhere. Reading in order does help, because many later promises look back to what God said to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in Book One.
